Today's news reveals the Inverness Post Office on Queensgate is among 115 facing potential closure as The Post Office seeks to 'streamline' its services.

This list comprises Crown Post Offices situated in city centres, staffed by Post Office employees, putting over 1,000 jobs at risk nationwide, including those at Inverness' main branch on Queensgate. The Post Office serves a greater purpose than merely selling stamps; it provides local residents with essential services such as cash withdrawals and deposits, parcel posting and collection, and access to passport and currency services.

With more and more blank closures, tow centre businesses are in dire need of swift banking services, which the Post Office has been able to provide.

This is why we are launching our campaign: our city centre has already suffered significant losses with the bank closures, and the Post Office has stood as a reliable alternative.

The staff at Inverness Post Office are warm, friendly, and deliver exceptional service. They help support of our most vulnerable and elderly residents whose bank may have closed or moved years ago.

The potential closure feels like another blow to our city centre, which is already facing with the challenges of online shopping and banking.

I invite you to sign our petition to prevent the closure of Inverness Post Office.

Your signature will help us convey a strong message to the Post Office executives: Inverness wants to keep our post office

We intend to write to the Post Office and other relevant parties at the earliest opportunity to persuade them to think again about these proposals
