ELECTION LATEST: It's Lib Dems vs SNP

Elections in the Highlands are a close fight between the Liberal Democrats and the SNP

Your vote WILL make the difference between whether our next MP is Lib Dem Angus MacDonald or the SNP candidate.

Across Inverness and the Highlands, people are fed up of being forgotten by the Central Belt focused SNP. Even those who would like to see Scotland become independent – including many of their own MSPs – struggle to defend their woeful record in the Highlands after 17+ years in power.

From halting all NHS capital projects, to starving the Highland Council budget; promising and failing to dual the A9 over and over again; siding with the Greens on expensive and impractical policies; centralising key emergency services; and more, the SNP’s failures here are now obvious to all but a few.

I am deeply troubled by the SNP’s policies, which often seem disproportionately focused on the Central Belt, neglecting the needs and priorities of regions like ours in the Highlands”

SNP Councillor Karl Rosie on his resignation, 14/02/2024

On top of this, the SNP are mired in scandal – a still missing £660,000, deleted Covid WhatsApp messages, and recently a mobile roaming bill of £11,000 charged to the taxpayer.

Enough is enough. At the next election, we need to oust the SNP.

It's Lib Dem Angus or the SNP here

Only Angus MacDonald can beat the SNP within the new boundaries of Inverness, Skye and West Ross-shire.

Liberal Democrats have held substantial majorities in Ross, Skye and Lochaber, and Inverness before. Charles Kennedy, Russell Johnston and many other Liberals represented the Highlands well. Angus is the right sort of person.

The new Inverness, Skye, West Ross-Shire and North Lochaber seat can be won by the Lib Dems.

The choice in the Highlands at the next election:

More SNP neglect of the Highlands

For 17+ years, the SNP have dominated Scottish politics, yet Highland healthcare is worse, our roads are worse, our education is worse and they have been mired in scandal and in-fighting.

Do we really want more of the same?

Or a fair deal with Lib Dem Angus

Having been dismayed at the SNP's lack of interest in the Highlands, successful local entrepreneur Angus MacDonald first became a Lib Dem Councillor in 2022 and is now standing to be our next MP in Westminster.

The election here is between the failing SNP and Lib Dem Angus. The Tory vote will collapse and a Labour vote here is a wasted vote.

If you’re fed up of Inverness and the Highlands being taken for granted by Central Belt focused SNP, vote for Angus at the next election.

Angus MacDonald

Support grows for Angus

More and more people right across Inverness and the Highlands are backing Lib Dem Angus MacDonald at the upcoming General Election.

Lib Dem Angus can beat the SNP here.

I'm backing Angus

More and more people are backing local Liberal Democrat Angus MacDonald to win in Inverness, Skye and West Ross-shire at the General Election.
